Nikolai, it appears from the Typewriter Database that Woodstocks with a serial number beginning with B are from 1916-20: http://typewriterdatabase.com/woodstock.58.typewriter-serial-number-database

Re: Woodstock S/N

Nikolai, It would depend on which Woodstock model you have.

A Woodstock B- prefix serial number indicates a machine that was manufactured between 1914 and 1921. However, Beeching specifically cites a Model 4 with a serial number B26433 as being manufactured in 1914. Using that typewriter as an example, if your machine is also a Model 4 then it would be fairly safe to narrow down its manufacture year to either 1914 or 1915.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

I think this is impossible. The 1924 edition of "The Digest of Business Machines",(Richard Polt's webpage), explains that the Woodstock serial numbers were not sequential, but a code.  I take from this it is something only company records would decipher.  The prefixes give a range and not much more.  I discovered this trying to date my B prefix Woodstock Model 5.  Maybe there's other information to extrapolate such as Uwe's, but I'm still open to find it.
