1937 Remington line control lever is.... gone.

Hello all. I just purchased my very first typewriter, and as an example of just how little I know, it wasn't until I got home that I realized... the line control lever seems to be... well... .not there.

Shes a 1937 Remington 5 Streamlined, Serial number V902559, with carry case. Everything seems to function despite being a little neglected. Looks like she was stored in a shed, or garage, or attic. She's got some mild patina/rust on some components, lots of dead bugs and spiderwebs, rock hard platen and feed rollers with flat spots. But much to my surprise, none of the keys stick, all the components that I could think to test seem to work, and there was even just enough ink in the ribbon to type a barely visible line of text on a piece of paper (that had to be manually fed through because the rollers couldn't grab it). Overall she seems to be in rather good shape, but im guessing the line control lever got snagged on something and either broken and removed, or ripped off.

So I guess I'll be posting up some pictures here in a bit, and looking to find out if its even possible to repair her, and get that lever replaced. And over time, learn the tricks and art of typing on a mechanical device with built in printer, rather than the computers I grew up with my whole life.

Thank you in advance for any and all help, advice, and knowledge anyone is willing to share.

-E

View from the rear 3/4 angle, of the left side of the platen, where the line control lever I think should be mounted. But is not there.

And the same left side of the platen, from the front 1/4 view, showing the roller that looks like it broke off, and is very loosely in place.
