I'm in the process of clearing out my vinyl collection and noticed by accident this photo on the back of one of the albums. And that's your first clue. (I'm afraid any more clues would make this too easy). So who can identify the typewriter in this photo?
As a bonus, name the album it appears on - and why this typewriter is actually fairly well known.

My first guess would be an Olivetti Lettera 22. But the carriage return lever looks kind of off for the L22, so it's probably not...

Sorry missed the bonus. Album: Songs From A Room.

Hmmm... apparently that was TOO easy - or you two gentlemen are far too smart!
I.den = 7 points (for the not-so-confident identification)
SoucekFan = 12 points (10 points for the slam dunk identification plus 2 bonus points for the album title)

Next round: Name the typewriter make and model. Bonus points for naming the aircraft it's being used in.

Royal O? B-17?

Royal Portable O with touch control. Considering the bomber jacket and the age of typewriter, I guess the plane is a B-17.
