Hello
I have a problem with a Groma Kolibri
The Carriage don't stop and it goes all the way to the left.
the buttons on the left and right are not stuck
If i push the space bar or a letter, the carriage don't move but as soon as i lift my finger, it goes all the way to the left.
If you have a idea of the problem of the solution, i will be grateful
thanks
Steve

I just deal with this on a Olivetti Lettera 32
It's my understanding that when these things get Dusty there are certain gears and teeth that don't "grab "
I happen to have my Kolibri out on the workbench so I can show you a picture of where I think you should probably start
What I did with my Laterra was just doused it with 100% mineral spirits
It's been a couple of days and it is still working properly although previously, I have used denatured alcohol to sort of flush out everything around the gear mechanism and it only took for a day or two, but once it dried the problem returned
That being said I have not had the same problem since using mineral spirits so I think that's the way to go
I have a squirt bottle with a little nozzle but basically you just want to get as much solution as you can from every angle into that gear area

This is abit off-topic, but that shot of the Kolibri shows the clever placement of everything in such a flat typewriter. Just another way of looking at typewriters, admiring the great engineering in them (not to mention how cool they look).

Lol
Continuing in that off-topic thread, I was so frustrated that nothing was working I literally just rolled a sheet of paper into the Kolibri and wrote out my anger, in all its misaligned "n" and sticky "u" and still-not-quite-accustomed-to-QWERTZ yet ugliness.
It didn't help much.
How goes it SM any luck yet?

I cannot find " mineral spirit " ...
Is it the same as White Spirit ?

I believe they are the same but I'm not 100% sure on that..
Are you in the UK? I believe mineral spirits in the US is marketed as white spirits in the UK ...

No, I am in Belgium but i will check if it is the same.
Thank you again
