Re: English made Hermes Baby

And it's not as if Finland and Sweden are on the other side of the world from each other, so it is an easy mistake to make

Re: English made Hermes Baby

You're just being nice! It was truly a stupid mistake to make...

Please PM me your contact info and I'll pass it along. Thanks!

In the meantime he's come up with an alternate theory to mine: It's possible that Empire was not allowed to export (whether under that name - or for some other reason) to Finland, and had an arrangement with Hermes (Paillard) to brand the machines they were exporting to Finland using the Hermes name.

If this was the case you would then expect that Hermes wouldn't be exporting, the Baby model at least, to Finland. It's all very interesting and it would make sense to keep an eye on Baby models found in Finland to see where they actually were made.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

Re: English made Hermes Baby

I have an Empire Aristocrat (1948) AND a Hermes Baby (1952) . The Baby is a Swiss version with diacritic keys.  Another thing that is different is that the cover is made of steel for the Aristocrat & alloy for the Baby.
