Smith-Corona Clipper -- we talk a lot on the forum about which are the greatest typewriters, but this little guy is really a joy to use (and a beauty to boot). I second Mr. Hanks's recommendation.
I was also impressed with how quiet that butt-ugly Hermes 3000 was.
Good for him, is all I can say. He seems the genuine article -- maybe not (by his own admission) without a darker side, but he treats others well.

There was a 4-, 5-, and 6-series Clipper, so which of the three models do you like so much, Fleet? The 4-series version, which combines a nice type action with great style, would be my choice of the three.
