neighbor gave it to me and it sat for about 10 years. now i would like to get it working and use it.
it is an Underwood 11-7822860 i can't find one like it on the internet. I found one similar but it had a diffrent logo design. Mine looks like it has had some use some of the paint is worn off, but i'm not really woried about worn paint.
All the other keys seem to work fine (other than old ribbon) except 6 7 t g h b wont push down. How can i fix this and is there anything else i should watch out for?
here is a video i uploaded yesterday
thanks

From the serial number, it's a 1956 SX. Underwood was changing its logos a lot at that time. Brush lighter fluid on the segment (the comb-shaped area that the typebars ride in as they swing up to strike the ribbon), and work the typebars back and forth by hand. Expect it to take several times to free them up.

I don’t know, some of those keys seemed jammed rather than gummy. I’ve seen a couple Underwood’s with a curved line lock, and it seems like the keys that aren’t working are all in the middle, right where the apex of the curve is. I’d start with a very thorough cleaning.

I've seen them behave like that when they are badly gummed up, so start with a thorough cleaning and see what happens.

Thanks! It may be a few days before i can get to the store to get some lighter fluid. How would you suggest me go about cleaning it?

Get a small brush (one of those disposable foam brushes can work well) and a small cup to squirt the fluid into; then dip the brush in it and go to town on cleaning the segment. As mentioned, you may find that it takes a few tries. Clean the sides of the typebars where they fit into the segment also.
