Is it possible to repair this (broken frame)?
Has anyone attempted anything similar? what were the results?
(the front detachable plate is fine though)

Oh dear, what a mess ! If you have all the broken parts and they still fit together well, you could try to put them back together with epoxy resin and then reinforcing behind or underneath with a steel strip.

This doesn't look too bad... seems mainly that the front frame member is shattered and the vertical part behind the keys has popped off. I have had good results with a "J-B Weld", which claims to be steel reinforced epoxy. It sets grey and makes a tough repair. If you went for "it works" over "like new" and can tolerate beads of epoxy around the cracks this would be an easy repair.
So this was two months ago... how did the repair work out?

I will look for "J-B Weld" in particular, I am not so worried for the looks, I think I could do a full restoration paint job if necessary.
Sadly this is live, the machine made a stop at a friends place in LA, then she bring it where I am some time later. I hope that with the second travel it doesn't get worse.
