The 1949 Hermes Baby logo

I posted this in another forum and generated some discussion but didn't get much information about the specific machine I just purchased (my first typewriter!) which had been my goal. I wanted to see what peoples' thoughts were here, and whether this seems correct.

I purchased a Hermes typewriter, model 2a. The logo on the typewriter, however, just says "Hermes." It is definitely a Hermes machine with the body of a Hermes Baby, but is not labeled Baby or Rocket or anything else. I could not find any examples of this "Hermes"-only logo in the Typewriter Database. If you look at this history of the Hermes Baby, you can see that all iterations of the logo have the word "Baby." https://typewriters.ch/collection/hermes_baby.html

After extensive scouring of the internet, I found several examples of this typewriter model, identical to the one I purchased. They all appear to be 1949 Hermes Baby models without the "Baby" logo.

This machine with serial number 5129511 (see photos) has just "Hermes" as the logo:

This machine with serial number 5132313 (see photos) has just "Hermes" as the logo:

This YouTube video shows the serial number 5136534 at 15:55 and also has just "Hermes" as the logo (seen at 2:42):

I guess I'll be adding mine to the Typewriter Database to represent. But it seemed odd to me that it's the only Hermes Baby logo without "Baby" in the logo.

Re: The 1949 Hermes Baby logo

What's the serial number of your Hermes?

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.
