My Olivetti Studio 45 has a paper bale that doesn't sit flat on the platen. I have the platen and feed rollers out of the machine and they are on their way to JJ Short. While I am waiting for their return, I would like to alight the paper bail.
Is there a standard way of doing this or is it different with each machine.

I don't see how you could do it without having the platen in place; alignment and pressure are both important.
Not a standard way of doing this. It depends on the design and construction of the parts. It will most likely involve bending because that is most likely how it got out of position in the first place, but there might also be screws you can loosen to help the process. Inspect it.
