My Underwood 5 was in the trunk of a car that got clobbered. As a result the frame front shattered and space are snapped into keys etc. so there are parts on offer if you need them. Comment the particulars and I might have it.
I’ll post a new picture on the typewriter database here

Sorry. Wrong Underwood 5 in that link. I’ll post the picture to Flicker since it isn’t on the database. Thought I’d put it there.

Hi there - very sorry to hear about the accident!
I've been looking for a part to repair mine. It's a flat curved spring that is on the back of the unit, here's a picture where you will find it on the back, attached to two screws:
Here's a picture of the broken part. Normally it's attached by two screws but that's what has broken off:
If you have this part, we would be very grateful for the help! I'll send you a private message with my details.
Thanks,
Fili

What size are the platen knobs?
I need right side knob for a 1936 portable and am hoping they used the same ones -
diameter 1-3/16" (30 mm) depth 3/8" (9.5 mm)
Thanks,

The knobs used on your Underwood portable are completely different--in both size and form--from what was used on an Underwood standard such as the No. 5. They are not compatible.

No knobs on the unit unfortunately.
