Olympia Report Deluxe Type alignment

Does anyone know how to adjust the upper/lowercase on a Report Deluxe? Since its a segment shirt, my guess is that there would be 2-4 screws for upper and lowercase height alignment which are secured by a nut, but I cant find anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Is there a chance of posting up some photos ?  Members might be able to suggest ideas if they see parts of the machine.

Re: Olympia Report Deluxe Type alignment

Gerd,

As the segment moves up/down, would the four (4) adjustable screws/nuts that I have circled in red on your photo...have anything to do with setting the travel stops for the segment ?

It seems like these 4 screws are in the wrong vertical position, though, and I only see them on my other-machines in a horizontal position.

Re: Olympia Report Deluxe Type alignment

Regarding those 4 screws; that’s what I thought at first as well, but upon closer inspection they don’t seem to be doing much of anything in terms of adjustment. While to they do seem to Limit the amount of travel the segment can do, it is limited by two round steel disks on the opposite side. Turning a round disc wouldn't change much.

Also, I am missing the correct tool to turn the nuts. I can’t get a hold of them with pliers and a wrench won’t reach in there. I don’t even think taking the carriage off would help.

Re: Olympia Report Deluxe Type alignment

I have nut-drivers with universal joints feature.  Have them in both SAE and metric sizes starting with very small socket sizes.  Got mine years ago in an automotive supply store.  Works with a standard 1/4" socket wrench and extension.

I will see if I can get hold of something and try to adjust these screws. Its certainly worth a try.
