I have a Lettera 32 which I'm giving as a gift. Both it and the original case are in fairly good shape, with one problem - the zip on the case is fraying and broken.
I think it'd be possible to get the zip replaced, but I was told that the repair won't be perfect - I'd need somewhere with an industrial sewing machine, and there'd be a new set of stitching holes. Has anyone else done this?

A luggage/upholstery repair shop should be able to take care of it just fine. You might try an automotive upholstery restoration shop, they use similar materials, similar bends, same sewing machines.
