My 1957 Roya QDL. I did add the green colored space bar (for a bit of fun). Still have the original cream colored one in the case.

The retainer strap on my Imperial Good Companion 5's leatherette case was on its last-leg in terms of holding on.
It failed along the reinforcement stitching line done at the case factory.
Rather than attempting to re-stitch along the failed line, I went with a nice little "butterfly" hinge and some small stainless screws/nut/washers.
