Silver Reed 500 ribbon won't reverse direction
Any idea why the ribbon just stops once it reaches its end? There is a kind of rivet at each end of the ribbon. Do they have a function? Thanks.

Sounds like you've gotten it sorted, but most machines need to be threaded a certain way so the rivet or the knot on the ribbon can trigger the auto reverse. Some machines don't need either though, so it depends.
