Lettera 32 noisy carriage
I've just acquired an Olivetti Lettera 32 in good shape. But the carriage, while running properly, makes a loud "zipping" noise, almost scraping. I have another 32 which is much more quiet.
The mechanism looks clean. But is there some specific place that usually causes such noise? Should I oil some part of the mechanism?
Any help appreciated!

The silencer spring that sits in a radial groove of the escapement gear may have become dislodged on your machine, or might be missing.
