New one, Aztec 600, 1961, and case porn for Pete. I think my fake plant has about run it's course as a model so threw in a camera to distract.

A gorgeous machine IMHO! I have an Aztec 700 from 1960 that is one of my favorite typers. Do you know much about the Aztec brand? It's my understanding that the 700 is a rebranded Erika 10.

I believe that the Aztec 600 is the same as the Rheinmetall KST, and that Aztec was a badging for exports to ?? wherever.
Still sorting this one out. Can't figure how to clear tabs but will search the website or find a manual. Also I'm getting an occasional spacebar stutter causing more than a single space. Bell tone is a dull thunk and should be able to adjust the hammer arm to fix that.

Aztec 600. Found a manual explaining the Tab lever, top upper left marked S and L. Interesting touch control located on the bottom. Wonder how many users never read the manual and knew this was located here?

Congratulations on the Aztec 600. NIce score and that case is a beauty.
I, too, have not been able to find out much about the "Aztec" re-badging.
The Aztec 500 is out there too...also a more simple Erika machine.
And there is even an Aztec 14...which is a late 1960's or early 1970's Erika machine as well.
And several Optima machines look a lot like Erika machines, as well.
I do not think Rheinmettal re-badged any others....other than the Aztec 600.

The Rheinmetall KsT is one of those machines that can only be fully understand by reading the user manual. That's how I found out that the type bars can be removed for cleaning (or replacement). I would have never thought of that!

My favourite colour combination for the Aztec 600 would be this one.
They pop-up for sale from time to time...but usually at a cost that scares me away.

That's a 2-tone beauty.
Like mine, it has a 4-position ribbon color selector. Looks like 2 dark positions (or blue and green?) that both print black on my 2 color ribbon. Well actually the top black position chops off a little on the top of tall letters. The next black position corrects this but on very fast typing it picks up a bit of red ribbon on the bottoms of letters. But only when typing fast.
Did they make 3 color ribbons?

I like the looks of the green cover finishes. here's my Aztec 700 with a decal rather than a metal emblem. - George

Nice.
Along with the logo application, some interesting differences, like the color selector and the oval key shape.
I think someone remarked that the Aztec 500 and 700 were made by Erika and the Aztec 600 by Rheinmetall.
