Re: Puzzling....Hermes 3000S Typewriter

I have had a look on the Antique Typewriter Collector's Group on Facebook, and I've saw some people asking the same question about the "Hermes 3000 S". It appears that some collectors hold it in the same regard as the Facit 1620, but other collectors have regarded it as a complete piece of trash...interesting.
Opinions seem to differentiate on this machine, but the only way to know what it's like to use, would be to buy it.

Re: Puzzling....Hermes 3000S Typewriter

I would jump on a decent one if for $ 100 USD or less.  But not at $ 200-300 and more.

And then, I would still be tempted to put a new label on the machine which reads as "Really A Facit".

I like the design of the lid/case...

Re: Puzzling....Hermes 3000S Typewriter

Here's another for auction (not affiliated with the sale): https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/190600795_vintage-hermes-3000-s-typewriter-wcase

Opening bid is $350. (It was on the block last week with an opening bid of $400, but nobody bid).

Looks to be in VG shape, though.
