Hello! I love my Olympia 35.. but the power cord is disintegrating in places. I'm debating two courses of action.
1)Should I just keep snooping around ebay, or can this cable be found elsewhere? It's the one with a round barrel shaped end.
2)Has anyone modified these machines to use a desktop computer type cable (C13)... or maybe should I just hardwire it?
3)Is there something I haven't considered?
Thanks for your help!

2nd attempt at adding a photo...

I just found a post on here asking the same exact question from 2014 for a SGE35. Looks like I need to either hard wire it or make a new male port on the machine to work with the C13 computer desktop type cables.

Hi Cybill,
I have this extra power cord for an Olympia SGE-30/35.
It is in very good shape with no cuts/nicks or crumbling of the plastic on the cord.
The end that plugs into the machine was starting to pull away from the cord...so I stabilized with with electrical tape...as you can see the photos. You could re-do it with a bit of 2-part epoxy.
If you want it, you can have it free except for $ 12.50 for shipping. It will come to your place via USPS with tracking. I will be shipping it from Idaho.
Drop me a message with your ship-to address and I will give you my PayPal info.
Let me know if you want it...

You're the man Pete. I like that the new cable has a ground too. I picked up some epoxy and will fix it up this weekend.

Glad to be of help, Cybill.
BTW...I ended up re-painting my ribbon cover on my SGE-35. It is a nice cursive-script machine that I use for personal and family writings.
