Not too often you see one of these in decent condition for sale.

Shop Goodwill reports this one weighs in at 54.4 lbs.
I have an Olympia standard electric at about the same weight. It has a permanent place on a small side table in our home...as it's a bit of a chore to move it around.

Good luck to anyone who bought that
Although the manual Hermes Ambassador was one of the best office manual typewriters ever produced (and the widest !), the same cannot be said of the Ambassador Electric. It had a horrible wax-covered power roll which gave endless trouble. The best use for this machine would be as either a door-stop or a source of interchangeable spare parts for a manual Amabassador !

Hi Tom,
Thanks so much for your insights to this big Hermes electric.
I am very fond of my Hermes 10 electric (portable) which seems to be more like a Hermes 3000 with electrified functions.

I must admit that I have never seen a Hermes 10. Certainly from what I can see in the picture (especially the carriage), it does look like an 'electrified' Hermes 3000. I wonder if the typebars are driven up by a variation of the awful Ambassador wax power roll or by a more sensible arrangement ?
