Hello all! I have a French Typo typewriter, which works wonderfully. On this machine, the typebars and keyboard block can be removed. The operation can be done easily, and I've done it several times. But every time I want to put it back I have to struggle a long time. Does anybody know the easiest process to do this? I've found several user's guides for this typewriter, but none explains the way to put the keyboard/typebars back in place.
Thanks if you can help me!

I have a few Imperial models and understand the process you describe, but I'm curious as to why you need to remove the keyboard so often that reinstalling them is an annoyance?
It's been a while since I've done the same thing, but I recall it being important that the keyboard remain perfectly level when it's being inserted; I think I might have placed something in front of the machine to aid this.
However, I'd suggest sending a direct message to Tom (thetypewriterman) here; he's an Imperial expert and likely has any parts you might need in case that's an issue.

Hi, thanks for your kind answer. I had to remove the block to clean the pivots of the typebars which had been unfortunately oiled by previous owner, so they were "sticking" a little. Now they work perfectly. And the keyboard remains absolutely level, no worry about that. I've sent a message to Tom ("Typewriter Man"). Thanks for suggestion.
Have a nice week! Gilbert.
