Ok, so yesterday and the day before, I missed out on two chances to obtain typewriters. Friday, the lady who was selling a Royal KHM had already sold it sometime before Christmas. And yesterday I went to an antique store where everything was over priced. (there was a Remington 30's portable with a broken drawband for $70, a 40's Smith-Corona Sterling with a busted vibrator for $95, and [what I'm really upset about] a two toned maroon and light grey Olympia SM-3 with dirt and sticky keys for also $95.) So I was angrily surfing the Internet for another typewriter when I came across a 40's Remington Noiseless. The price was good and it worked. So out of impulse I bought the machine. Now I have a typewriter in the mail system that I know rather little about that will be here in about a week. So any information about this machine would be wonderful.
(On a side note, how is everyone? It seems kinda dead here lately. I assume it's because of the holiday season?)

There were different Remington Noiseless models offered during the '40s, so a little more information about the one you bought would be helpful. For a start, is it a standard or a portable model? An example of the portable is my Remington Noiseless Model 7 (1947):

It's a portable model seven (that's a bit of important information I forgot to put in... oops) and I'm pretty sure it's after the War. So late 40's. It has the crinkle finish and looks just like yours.

Post up pictures when you get it and let us know how the impulse buy went.

Well, it came in the mail today! And I do say it was well worth the wait. It's pretty clean on the inside. But it smells like my grandmother's basement so I'm going to let it air out. And it used to say "Model Seven" on the front, but it wore off. And it types lightly. Like I'm not using enough force. But here are som pictures anyway.

Looks really nice! I used to have a Noiseless 7 that looked a lot like yours, but unfortunately I sold it because I thought I would run out of space. 20 typewriters later, and I still have lots of room... sigh...

Well, I've been running out of space for awhile. I have to put in more shelves because I'm limited to my room, and there's also more than just typewriters in it. But I won't probably stop for awhile. Maybe at 10. Or 100. Or 1,000. I like 1,000 though.
