Hi-
Does anyone out there have a Remington Model 5 Portable parts machine? Mine is the Streamlined model from 1937, but I think any model with the "Self Starter" will work. I need the "Tab Stepping Dog Slide". My mechanism all works, but the tooth on my slide is worn down too far to engage the rack. I am attaching a picture from the service manual with an arrow to the part that I need. I don't have any parts machines to trade from, but I would happily pay to buy it.
Thank you,
Dave

I assume the part is made of steel? I'd take it to a local welder who in a few minutes could build up the metal where the tooth is and then I'd file it to shape (using a template I made of the part beforehand as a guide). Just an idea.
