I think the poor old Underwood is toast unless some typospherian has lots of time and energy, and money, to invest. The others might be saved,

The underwood isin't all that bad
it just needs a evapo rust dunk
Which works Very well.
I would save it if wasn't so pricy
if I am going to spend that kind of money
on a TW it better be rust free

Evapo rust dunk? I seem to recall seeing links somewhere on this forum to how to dunk. Haven't checked them out yet. I don't know what qualifies a machine as needing dunking.

Wah, that poor Underwood!

Save the Royal 10! I have a huge soft spot for any Royal standard because every single Royal standard I have, has been saved from destruction or eternal rot somehow.

I really, REALLY wish I could help here and in normal circumstances I would, but I am out of money and out of space. I have saved two machines from keychoppers before and trust me, they will run you as much shipping as they can to get the most from you. My originally $45 set of Royal Arrow keys ended up costing over $100 with shipment for the whole machine. Did I regret buying it? Not at all, I think it was well worth the cost to save it, but most collectors would wince at paying that much for a common machine.

I am sadly limited by space as well although I am looking for two machines. I'm not sure I could handle the cleanup required. I'm going to try and clean up two of mine that were in my parents' basement and that will be mostly on the outside until I do some research for cleaning the inside.

Well, while I'm not looking at these specific ones, I am looking at a Royal standard of some sort, a Corona 3 folding (how cool is that!) and yet another Royal QDL, this one with green keys. I seem to like these Royals!
Hmm. Just heard back from the seller of the Corona. He couldn't get the paper around the platen and it doesn't advance when he types. Any idea what might be going on?

Flattened feed rollers I'll bet. The carriage not advancing could be a number of things.
