Underwood No. 4 or No. 5?

Can someone please help me identify this typewriter?

The S/N is:  718592

Is this an Underwood No. 4 or a No. 5?       THANKS!

Wait, just looked online. It is a Underwood Standard #5. The 5 has extra keys.

Re: Underwood No. 4 or No. 5?

Technically, it's a Model 5E (84 character typeset with ribbon colour selector and paper guide options), and based on the serial number you provided, is was made in 1914.

I just happened to have "rescued" the same model (a 1925 machine) last week that was headed for the scrap yard, but it will be a long time before I begin its restoration.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

Why are the space bars commonly cracked? (Kinda random)

Ooooh, please let us know how the decals go. I have a Royal 10 that really needs a new decal but I'm too nervous to just jump right in and do it...
