Re: New Member Thread

Hi everyone.
New user from Copenhagen Denmark.
Finally a member of a typewriter forum and a growing typewriter enthusiast.
My small collection so far:
Smith-Corona Clipper (1956)
Hermes 3000 (1964)
Hermes 8 Standard (1964)
Olympia Splendid 33 (1959 or 1960)
Olympia Traveller De Luxe (1969)
Olivetti Valentine (1970)
Erika Model 10 (1958)

Very much hoping to own Royal Quiet De Luxe, Groma Kolibri, Empire Aristocrat and about a thousand others. Hoping to learn a lot in here.

A very good day to all.
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

New here myself, so it's nice to see others joining.

I'm learning the different brands, so your 'wish list' includes a similar model to one I'm looking into-- a schweet looking chrome trimmed Royal DeLuxe.  Unfortunately, bidding for one on the E-Bay already more than my snipe!  Have to cancel it now.  ; )

Anyway, welcome aboard!

How did you get into collecting typewriters?

Brian

Welcome, Thomas - that's a very interesting list of typewriters you've got there - you've started with the good stuff!

If you're after an Empire Aristocrat, you'll be needing its twin sibling, a Hermes Baby too, to go with your other Hermes machines... ;)

Hi Kat
Glad to be here.
Definitely want a Baby, Rocket, Featherweight. This hobby just keeps on adding things to the wishlist. Great!

Re: New Member Thread

Hello, I recently inherited an old Underwood from my grandfather (it belonged to his grandfather before him) and have many questions about it, since I wasn't alive for the glory days of the typewriter. To be completely honest, I didn't even know how to work the thing before getting some help from older friends, but now I'm very curious about it!

Re: New Member Thread

Hello everyone. New here and look forward to learning from you all. A little about myself, I live here in Colorado Springs CO, am a disabled combat vet. Retired from the military in 97, became a fugitive recovery agent/chef/cake designer up until 2012. Now I collect and restore antiques (radios, victrolas, film projectors and such). I'm pretty new to the typewriter field. Couple months ago I found a Underwood 5 in a pawnshop for $40 and fell in love with it so I bought it. Since then I've invested in quite a few more. lol In fact just today I bought a 1934 Remington Noiseless 6, 1948 Remington Rand Noiseless Model 7 and a Underwood that I'm having difficulty identifying. Anyways enough rambling, nice too meet you all and hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend.

Helloooooo!

I'm Ami from Wales in the UK. I accidentally discovered the vintage typewriter underworld when I picked one up for £3 at our local tip (civic amenity centre) a couple of months ago.

Thanks for adding me. :-)
