Smith Corona Silent 1940's Model: Carriage Does Not Advance

I'm a typewriter newbie, but I appreciate the elegance of the machine and the sprit of this site, and I hope to have my Smith Corona back in working order soon.  After reading up, I discovered that the draw band may have been out of place, and I did not my best to re-position it, but I am not sure I did it correctly.  Either way, I have not fixed the problem. I took some pictures, but I am not sure how to make them visible here.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would first suggest re-doing the draw-band. See this blog post for a very good demonstration of draw-band fix
https://myoldtypewriter.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/lady-lazarus-the-royal-aristocrat/ the method is much the same for your machine. You can post pictures after your third post in the forums here

Thanks for that blog, Malole! A nice one to know about, very engaging. And I too am about to have to change my first drawband (on a Skyriter), so this post is really helpful.
