Lettera 12 - Shift mechanism slow to return

I have a Lettera 12 with a very slow shift. When shift key is released, the entire mechanism is very slow to return. So that when I type from caps back to lowercase, the type is misaligned. I've cleaned it out but I haven't oiled anything. I'd appreciate any ideas, direction, etc. Thanks

Re: Lettera 12 - Shift mechanism slow to return

It either needs more cleaning - or you've missed a linkage or two. It should move freely without the need of oil - you can always lightly oil it after its' working properly. On the off chance that it isn't a cleaning issue, I would carefully examine the entire shift mechanism to see if it mechanically binding with something else.

If you can't figure it out, I'll pull out a Lettera 12 and give you more concise instructions.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

Re: Lettera 12 - Shift mechanism slow to return

Thanks, Uwe. I was so focused on it possibly being a complex problem that I didn't notice that one of the springs was simply out of place. I used some pliers to get in and popped it back into place. Now works fine. Thanks so much
