The chrome is really flaking on my Oliver. Anyone have some places to get some chrome replating done?

It's sort of moot point unless you want to keep the finish of the machine as close to original as possible. Plating shops will completely strip the old plating off the metal first, and at that point any number of different applications can be used, chrome included.
@TypewriterGuy: I know at least four plating shops, in my area, but you didn't specify if you're looking for someone local, or any plating service that you could ship the parts to. If you do want someone local, it would really help if you mentioned the area the shop should be located in.

I already looked for some local places. There were none, so Im going to try for a place where I can ship the parts too.

Okay. I think you're in the United States, so my recommending a few shops in Toronto probably won't be of much help as I don't think it would be cost effective from a shipping perspective. So I assume you're looking for a reputable plating shop in the U.S.?

I can't remember the name of it, but I saw an auto restoration show who went to a chrome plating shop somewhere in Detroit.

Hi TW Guy
Start by talking to your local automotive body shop and ask them where they get re-plating done. Alternatively, contact a vintage car club in your area and see if any of the members can steer you to a shop they recommend. I don't know if you get the same TV programs as we do, but Rick Dale (American Restoration) and Danny at Count's Customs (Counting Cars) are often sending parts away to get re-plated. Hope this gives you some helpful ideas,
Sky
