Need Underwood #5 Comparison Photos

The paper stay arm on my Underwood 5 is really wobbly. Im trying to figure out if Im missing something. If you have an Underwood #5, I need a photo of the paper stay arm that comes out to hold down paper.

Not sure I know what you mean by the "paper stay arm", so I assumed it's the envelope holder that you're referring to. Hope these photos help:

Re: Need Underwood #5 Comparison Photos

There is some up and down play when it's deployed against the platen, as you would expect given what it's designed to do, but I wouldn't describe it as being 'wobbly'. The swing movement between the platen and its repose is solid.

Hmmm. Do you see any type of a washer in the hinge of it?

No washer. Just a flat metal spring, which can be clearly seen in both photos.
