eBay has a very good AI to prevent a buyer from sending his contact info. to a seller with the Message utility associated with a sale-item.

But eBay does allow one to send 5 photos attached to a message to a seller.

So I made up a "business card" and saved it as a jpeg and attached it to a message to a seller.

Seller got my jpeg and sent me an email outside of the eBay-world.

Seller was an old friend I lost contact with over 15 years ago.

I was not trying to make a side-deal with the seller...but suppose it would work for that motivation as well.

Good to know these things. I personally stopped looking at eBay because the shipping costs are beyond ridiculous now. I don't know if this reflects a general increase in postal/shipping rates globally - or it's a result of eBay's intervention. Regardless, when it costs $60 CAD to 'ship' an oversized envelope containing a $10 item, I'm done with eBay.
