I have purchased the reproduction ribbon covers.  While they are not bad, I am not satisfied with them (If I can find originals).
a) Color slightly off
b) no slots as the originals have

I am sure that this question has been asked before but search as I might, both here and throughout the web, I do not seem to find an answer.

I understand there are places where you can submit a sample of the typing and have someone hopefully respond with which font it is.  I am trying to avoid having to do this with every typewriter I own.  It seems like there would be a compiled list, something like below:

Underwood #4 - xxxx 10pt or 12pt typeface
Underwood #4 - xxxx 10pt or 12pt typeface
Remington Quiet Deluxe - Could be xxxx 10pt/12pt or xxxx 10pt/12pt
etc.

Having image examples of the different fonts would be great also.  Just need to know if such a thing exists or not.  I have several common manual typewriters, but do not know what the font is for any of them.  Am I dreaming here?

I saw that but did not understand to disregard the AD in front of the serial number.  Do you know what that AD prefix designates?

Also, I go the machine cleaned up and did some test typing.  Much of the time the Capital letters are dropped below the line of type.  I see that I can vary that with the amount of pressure I apply to the shift key.  So, I may be just putting too much pressure on the key but it sure seems like there would be a more precise dead stop to end the shift travel and avoid such issues.

Do you or anyone else have any suggestions / directions on how to resolve this issue?
