My Olympia SG1's line space indicator is missing the ball bearing and tension spring that keeps it in place once a selection is made.  A picture of what it's supposed to look like would be welcome too.  thanks

Is the Hermes 10 body plastic?

I've been cycling through some electrics [Olympia SGE 35, SCM Electra 120 & Penncrest, Olivetti Praxis 48, and Olympia Report de Luxe] and have been surprised how many of them have plastic cases/bodies considering their weight.  I enjoyed typing on the Praxis 48, but the whole machine feels squishy because of the plastic case. Same with the Report de Luxe. So far only the SGE 35 and Penncrest feel solid and don't deform when you handle them.

You're the man Pete.  I like that the new cable has a ground too.  I picked up some epoxy and will fix it up this weekend.

Oh interesting so maybe it's a keyboard type indicator.  There's an SGE 35 on typewriter database listed as "SGE 35 D51" with a German layout.  I'll have to keep an eye out and see how many variations I come across.

I just found a post on here asking the same exact question from 2014 for a SGE35.  Looks like I need to either hard wire it or make a new male port on the machine to work with the C13 computer desktop type cables.

Hello! I have an OIympia Model 35 A61, and have been searching for information that would help me decode the model name.  To my eye it's identical to an SGE 35, but there must be some difference? I read a comment on another thread that said an Olympia Model SGE A62, was labeled as such specifically for schools.  So maybe A61 has a different sales channel than SGE?  I'm just curious about the naming conventions and what they indicate about the machine SGE 30 vs 35/40/45/50 or A61/62 etc.  I haven't found anything online yet.  Thanks

Hello! I love my Olympia 35.. but the power cord is disintegrating in places.  I'm debating two courses of action.
1)Should I just keep snooping around ebay, or can this cable be found elsewhere? It's the one with a round barrel shaped end.
2)Has anyone modified these machines to use a desktop computer type cable (C13)... or maybe should I just hardwire it?
3)Is there something I haven't considered?
Thanks for your help!
