Re: Could This be a Radio Mill?

Here's something titillating; I've found out that Imperial typewriters were used on British subs, but so far I've yet to find one typewriter used by the British Navy that was equipped with a paper spool. And after having spent a lot of time working through merchant marine radio rooms I can emphatically state that they used whatever they wanted or could get their hands on, everything from ultra-portables to full standards - and not a single paper spool on any of them.

The pronoun has always been capitalized in the English language for more than 700 years.

You're right that transcribing would have made a better word choice. I should have taken more care with what I was writing. However, the word transposing has more meaning than what you suggested, and in my use of it I was referring to the act of transferring radio signals to the typed page. I'm not sure why you mentioned transponding since I don't think it wasn't used at all in this thread.

I flatter myself that I'm pretty literate and I was comfortable with all the definitions and usages (transcribing, transposing, and transponder) that have ocurred in this thread. Only want to add here that my first reaction was that  "transponding" came up because it is a similar word that might have ocurred to some readers who have only been lurking here and skywatcher wanted to head off that possibility and clear it up in advance.
