Hello,
Drum spring is snapped. I am prepared to fix (cut notch into spring) the spring as soon as I can remove the drum.
I've removed all casing, and still can't remove drum.
It just spins on the screw and is in a pretty tight space to work in.
Any ideas?

A jeweler, maybe.
The machine is not a 3000, but a Hermes Rocket 1956, a model that looks like a combat correspondent's typewriter.
I may have tried to restring the drum a bit too roughly. Oops.
It has never been repaired, no parts ever replaced. I just need to open the drum and see what it needs.

Yes,
I did get a few. It took a moment to see how to minimize shipping costs (as that is usually a big part of the price),
Half were in worse shape than first realized, but I did get an Underwood portable that I can have fixed. The case is a mess, but I can put together something.
If you don't mind getting something you've really wanted but is a fixer-upper, you can have the self-satisfaction of giving something classic new life.

Has anyone found any typewriter cases? I have a Remington 8 Noiseless and a Remington All-In-One without cases.
It cut the costs, but....... It's a pain to move them.
Any ideas?
Might just have to McGuiver it and build them.
