I am looking for a known working Olivetti Underwood Praxis 48 that is known to work and that is a standard pica machine with standard font. Nothing italicised not cursive, just standard font. The reason I mention Olivetti Underwood is because I would prefer a machine made in the 60’s in Italy. If the badge says just Olivetti but you can guaranteed that it’s from the 60’s then I will accept. I know these machines or an eBay but the sellers don’t seem to understand the typewriter nor will they tell my the serial number so I can date it. I would rather purchase from someone on a dedicated typewriter website that has a machine that is known working and in decent condition. If you live in the Central Florida area I will be happy to pick it up myself. However I am willing to pay for shipping. If the Praxis comes with a case and it original owners manual, I will pay a little extra. Please respond to this post or pm me. Thank you.

I have a problem with my Hermes 3000. When you depress the margin realise type bars that get jammed. Mine isn’t working. Sometimes it will work but most of time I’ll press the margin realise button and nothing happens. So I press the button rapidly and the type bars will move a little at a time. What is causing the problem and how can I fix it? What can I adjust? I do own Ted Munk’s book on repairing the Hermes 3000 from the typewriter database, so if there is a page in there that mentions this, please also let me know.

Looking for a reasonably priced “squared” mint green 1960’s Hermes 3000. The most I can really spend in $370 including shipping so I’m not looking for museum quality. It just has to look decent, the platen knobs in tact preferably. Also the the plastic cards have to be in tact, in the sense you should be able to thread a paper without having to lift up the paper bail. Must have its case lid. Unless you’re in the central Florida area it will need to be shipped and that will be discussed in the price. Again I’m looking for the mid 60’s mint green squared body or second gen Hermes 3000, that’s the one I want. Please pm me or respond to this thread and we’ll get in contact. Thank you.

The plastic gear isn’t advancing the little hands that advance the gear just seem to be stuck in the groove. What is wrong?

Looking for a pink bodied Smith Corona 5TE electric portable typewriter. Has to be in working condition but it doesn’t have to be in perfect cosmetic condition. Willing to pay $250 but that has to include shipping. If you live near Kissimmee Florida I will pick it up and still pay $250. Please pm or respond to this post. Payments will be done through PayPal for security reasons. Unless I am meeting you in person then we can work something else out. Thank you. Also I have a few extra typewriters so if your willing to trade please let me know if you rather go that route instead. If you want to trade I would prefer to do it locally but again, something could be worked out.

I’m looking for a Olivetti Studio 44 that’s made in Italy and has a case and it’s original owners manual. Doesn’t need to be showroom quality but it needs to be functional. I can live with a few scuffs with the paint as long as it works and the type action isn’t too gummed up. Like I said I would like an Italian made Studio 44 and if it had a UK keyboard with the £ symbol. And if it included all of its paperwork that would be a plus but I’ll settle for the original manual if that’s all it has. I liking to spend $200 plus shipping but I am willing to negotiate. Payment will be through PayPal for security. Please PM me or reply to this post so I can PM you. Thank you and have a good day.
